Dog-Ear × Leatherius Woodman – a stamped leather collection of saved places and promised returns
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of leather stamping studies.
A September study.
Volume I-A.
Dog-Ear is a small leather collection about the places we promise to come back to. Each design carries a mark of the pause – a folded corner, a stamped due date – pressed into leather journals and their traveling companions.
First, we borrowed the card from the back of a well-loved book. DATE DUE at the head, a run of stamped dates below, and the last line reads SOON – a luggage tag that files its traveler as expected back.

It looks genuinely beautiful. The pale greige tag reads most like the card itself; deep wine and deep green carry the same slip into richer leathers.

Next, the sign every reader has wanted to hang somewhere: BACK IN TEN PAGES. We cut it as a little hanging shop sign for the keychain fob.

The black fob carries the gold – gilded letters, the way old storefront glass wore them. The warm tan fob takes the same sign as a quiet blind press.

Then the journals. We set a small asterism and TO BE CONTINUED in the lower corner, because for the person writing, the chapter never quite ends – every filled page earns the stamp a little more.

Looks great when stamped onto the leather, in deep wine and in deep green.

After that, game night. We rolled two dice onto the golden tan tray and wrote YOUR MOVE beneath them – the dish where the keys land in the evening now opens the table.

And finally, the mark the whole collection is named for. A page with its corner folded down and SAVE MY PLACE beneath it, stamped small on the warm tan and chestnut toiletry kit – so the bag that leaves home carries the promise to come back.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
If you're interested in the collection and you'd like these made real, or anything here changed – say hello through our contact page.
