Brooke & Joshua × Leatherius Woodman – a private wedding gift study

A July study.
Brooke and Joshua marry on Friday, November 13, 2026, in Cancún, Mexico. A date like that turns a guest list into a travel party; everyone who loves them packs a bag, and the whole room gathers where the two of them chose to stand.
Their published pages gave us the bones of a gift. Joshua asked at sunrise on the Acadia coast, and the couple now promises everyone "sand between our toes." From those two facts we drew three luggage-tag directions and rendered each across its own small family of leathers. Nobody commissioned this study; it was made for the pleasure of the problem, and it stays quietly on our bench unless the people closest to the day welcome it.
The quiet ampersand
The formal mark sets the couple's own published lockup as a small typographic monument. A tall ampersand holds the center of the stamp, with B at its left shoulder and J at its right; beneath them runs a single rule, and beneath the rule the date, 11.13.2026, in small even numerals. The render carries the same stamp across three tags – blind-debossed into cognac and natural leather, gold foil on black. A mark this plain earns its place as a guest gift because it belongs equally to every suitcase in the hall, though the small date numerals remain a proofing question – if foil balks at that size, the date line goes before any stroke thins.
The arch and the waterline
An open arch holds one calm waterline, and beneath its foot sit the word CANCÚN and the numerals 2026. The thought is simple. Cancún is the doorway this particular room walks through together, and the water inside the arch is plain geography, the kind every guest will meet at the shoreline within an hour of landing. We debated a third crest for the wave and kept it at two; past two, water starts to become decoration. Its render is a trio of its own, the arch identical on every tag – cognac and blueberry take the blind deboss, and the black tag carries it in gold foil.
First light
The third direction is wordless. A half-disc sun rests on a long horizon. At the left a low headland rises, and one thin path climbs it in two gentle switchbacks, stopping just short of the crest. Any guest will read morning in it. Whether it also holds a certain sunrise on the Acadia coast is for Brooke and Joshua to say; a stamp should leave the best of the story to its owners. The render keeps this whole family matte – blind-debossed into weathered camel and poppy red, with forest green alongside – the same sun rising on each tag.
