Chadwick Cove Resort & Marina × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world logos.

An August study.

For Chadwick Cove Resort & Marina.

First, we redrew the helm-and-script mark at full die resolution, seabirds and wake lines included.

The navy Chadwick Cove Resort & Marina helm, seabird and wave logo redrawn as a black-and-white leather stamping art plate.

For the warm-up, we put the logo on the luggage tags – a navy tag for the mark itself and a pale sea-blue one for the Gulf across the street. The black tag carries the logo in gold foil.

Next, the fact the whole property stands on. Lemon Bay lies on one side of Manasota Key and the Gulf of Mexico on the other, with one narrow strip of land between them. So we drew exactly that – the bay in quiet lines and the Gulf in rolling surf, the key a slender ribbon holding the two apart.

The passport covers come as a pair, one per water – navy for the bay side, pale sea-blue for the Gulf side.

Looks great when stamped onto the leather.

The same stamp sits at generous size in the golden tan catchall tray – the place where pockets empty once everyone is back ashore.

Then, the first promise on their homepage – protected dockage. Outside the cove wall the chop runs sharp; inside it, one small boat rides on perfectly flat water. PROTECTED, the stamp says, and the picture shows why.

We pressed it into the corner of the toiletry bags, navy over deep espresso brown – a kit that keeps its own cargo in protected water.

After that, the greeting. Their site meets every arrival with "Ahoy Captain", so we set those words in the logo's own furniture – the pair of seabirds above, the three wake lines below.

It went on the keychains, one navy and one warm tan, because a slip key or a condo key is the first thing a captain's hand closes around here.

Keychains with the Ahoy Captain stamp look just awesome.

And finally, their own line, "Dream it, Live it", split at the horizon – DREAM IT stands in the sky and LIVE IT sits in the water, with the sun holding the line between them. A journal is where the upper half gets written until it turns into the lower one.

Pressed into the lower corner of the journals, one pale warm greige and one navy.

It looks genuinely beautiful.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
