Christal Sczebel × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world logos.

An August study.

For Christal Sczebel.

First, the uniform. Christal calls hers a classic crewneck and vintage Levi's, so we folded both and stacked them the way they sit on a shelf, with THE UNIFORM set underneath.

It looks genuinely beautiful. A navy tag for the denim; camel and pale greige beside it for everything else she wears.

Next, we borrowed the spine of her leather gift guide – every good thing weighed twice, once as a save and once as a splurge – and set both words on a balance scale. SPLURGE carries three letters more; the beam sits level anyway.

On the keychains the duo acts it out: the caramel one is the save, the black one is the splurge. The black fob carries the gold; the caramel takes a blind deboss.

Her guide already vouched for the toiletry bag, so the scale went onto a stack of them – camel over dark espresso, pressed blind into the corner.

And finally, the one we liked the most. She once called January a soft reset, and leather keeps two of those on the dresser: the catchall where a day empties its pockets, and the journal where the next one gets planned. So we sewed the reset – one thread stitching a full circle back toward its own needle, with SOFT RESET inside.

The journals run pale greige and black – the ground and the type of her pages. Looks great when stamped onto the leather.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
