IU School of Medicine General Surgery Residency × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

The trident and the two-line lockup pressed faithfully, run lengthwise along the tag – a residency travels more than it lets on, from fellowship interviews to the move after the match. The trio sets deep wine beside pale sand greige, after the crimson and white of the official mark. The black tag carries the trident in gold.
Indianapolis calls itself the Crossroads of America, and this program earns the title across five downtown hospitals – so the companion mark is a road map reduced to its logic, five slender routes converging on one hub and a single heavier road driving on. It rides the corner of the toiletry bags in black over deep espresso brown, and sits at generous size in the golden tan tray, where the badge and the keys land at the end of a call.
Sign-out, drawn with the economy of an operative note: one suture line runs unbroken, and the knot at its middle marks where one team hands the service to the next. A duo of fobs in deep wine and black, blind pressed for daily carry.
The old adage runs SEE ONE DO ONE TEACH ONE, and the journal cover takes it at its word – a dashed line becomes a solid stroke, and in the last row the solid stroke gains a new dashed line following close behind. Pressed at generous size on the front corner, in deep wine and pale sand greige, for the case log and whatever gets written after it.
