For Keeps – a leather collection about what stays

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of leather stamping studies. Volume I-C.

A September study.

FOR KEEPS – a small collection about what stays. The found thing that gets kept, and the guest who settles in. Four designs, pressed into leather.

First, we drew a suitcase that has given up on leaving – a potted plant already lives on its lid – and set STAYING A WHILE beneath it.

It looks genuinely beautiful.

The same suitcase settled onto the toiletry bags.

Next, we pulled two mismatched chairs close together, angled the way chairs end up after a long evening, and wrote GOOD COMPANY beneath them – a key ring is a fair place to keep the people you would hand a spare key.

Then, we gave the catchall tray the only motto it can carry honestly – IT ALL ENDS UP HERE, set in a ring around one small key that arrived first.

And finally, the one we liked the most. A bundle of old letters tied with string, WORTH KEEPING beneath – a journal is where such a bundle begins.
