MCR Branding × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world logos.
An August study.
For MCR Branding and the Global Foundation for Peroxisomal Disorders.
For the warm-up, we put the MCR wordmark – dots and all – on the luggage tags, and let the dots pick the leathers. A pale sea-blue tag answers the cyan dot, and a vivid magenta tag answers its namesake. The third goes golden tan, after the yellow.

Next, the dots themselves. A stamp speaks only in black and white, so we translated the six colors into six fills – each circle carries a different pure-black pattern – and set SIX WAYS TO SAY IT beneath the row. That is a branding partner's whole trade in one line.

On the toiletry bags the die sits in true black over deep espresso brown, the wordmark's own register. Looks great when stamped onto the leather.

The keychains take the same die in dusty lavender and deep pine green – and with those two, every dot in the logo has now found its leather somewhere in this study.

Then, one for the Foundation. A catchall gathers small things into a single ring, so we drew a crowd of small centers held inside one circle – among them a single open circle, the rare one, kept at the middle – with RARE above and TOGETHER below. The tray comes in golden tan.

And finally, the journals. MCR says its work begins with listening, and a journal is where what was heard gets written down – so the cover carries a small point with sound arcs arriving at it, and LISTEN FIRST beneath. One journal in true black, the other in pale warm greige, the wordmark's own field. It turned out genuinely beautiful.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
