O'Bryan, Brown & Toner, PLLC × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world logos.

An August study.

For O'Bryan, Brown & Toner, PLLC.

For the warm-up, we put the OBT logo on the luggage tags, run lengthwise – a navy tag for the monogram's deep blue and a warm mid-gray one for the firm-name line beneath it. The black tag carries the logo in gold foil.

Next, we redrew the humblest artifact of trial work – the exhibit sticker – as a stamp of the firm's own. Whatever lands in the golden tan tray is hereby entered into evidence.

The keychains take the same mark, one navy and one black. The black fob carries it in gold, like lettering on a law book's spine.

Then we lettered a hanging sign for the bag that gets packed on short notice: GONE TO TRIAL. For a firm of trial lawyers, it is the only out-of-office that fits.

Looks great when stamped onto the leather – here on a navy and deep brown stack.

And finally, the one we liked the most. ON THE RECORD, set on the top rule of a legal pad with the lines beneath still blank – a journal is where a trial lawyer's day goes on the record first. One navy, one warm mid-gray, after the firm's own two colors.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
