Redfin × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.
An August study.
For Redfin.
The mark as found – lowercase, rounded, set in a red the company's own history says was chosen to feel "bright, vibrant, engaging, alive."
Pressed faithfully, the wordmark runs lengthwise along the tag the way a street name runs along a map. Warm red and pale greige take it blind, the way the site sets it against white space; the black tag carries the mark in gold.
A map pin with a keyhole opened in its head – the pin says found, and the key hanging beside it says yours. One fob in warm red; on the black fob the pin goes down in gold.
The pin wears a handle here, because a toiletry bag is the address you carry – it goes along, and it still knows where home is. Pressed small in the corner, true black over deep brown.
A golden tan catchall – where the keys land at the end of the day. The pin stands in its own radius rings, marking the spot.
A search fills a notebook before it fills a home – five open pins for the houses you walked through, and one solid pin, keyhole and all, for the one. In warm red and pale greige.
