The Hot Tub Doctor × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world logos.
An August study.
For The Hot Tub Doctor.
For the warm-up, we pressed the official mark – the cross with the waterline running through it – into the golden tan catchall tray.
Next, we wrote the house prescription. The cross from their own mark holds the center of a round seal, water rippling through its lower half. Around the rim the words do the doctoring – DOCTOR'S ORDERS above, SOAK DAILY below.
It looks genuinely beautiful.
The luggage tags come as a family of three, straight from the palette of the mark – warm red and pale sea-blue, with a pale sand tag standing in for the white ground.
The keychains carry the same seal in warm red and pale sea-blue, one color for each pocket of the crew. Looks great when stamped onto the leather.
Then the toiletry bags, navy over deep espresso brown, with the seal pressed into the lower corner. A prescription that lives in a wash bag is a prescription that gets followed.
And finally, the journals. A spa lives by its readings, so the cover says what the notebook has always been – THE WATER LOG, with the waterline drawn beneath the words and two bubbles rising off the crest. One journal in pale sea-blue, one in navy. Shallow water and deep.
We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
