Found on Wickenden – a Fox Point leather collection

An August study.
Found on Wickenden is a collection of five original stamps for Fox Point, Providence – the corner of the city where two rivers meet the bay and old things keep finding new hands.
First, the namesake. We drew a dealer's string tag – angle-cut end, knotted twine through the eyelet – and lettered FOUND ON WICKENDEN across its face, so the luggage tag wears a little tag of its own.
The black tag carries the gold.
Looks absolutely gorgeous when stamped onto the leather.
Next, TWO RIVERS. The Providence comes down one side, the Seekonk down the other, and the two currents merge into a single stroke that narrows to the point the neighborhood is named for. We pressed it on navy and on pale sea-blue – deep water, and the shallows where it meets the bay.
Then the fox. It sits in profile where the waters cross, and its tail sweeps forward until it flattens into the river it lives beside. Fox-colored leather was the only honest choice – a kit of honeyed russet over dark espresso.
It looks genuinely beautiful.
A catchall tray is where pockets get emptied after a day of hunting, so the stamp gives the order – EMPTY YOUR POCKETS – above a printer's case of small finds. A skeleton key sits in one compartment and a pocket watch in another. A few are left empty for whatever comes home next.
And finally, PROVENANCE. Every old thing arrives trailing a story of where it has been; a journal is where that story gets written down before it fades. An engraver's hand points at the word, and a ledger line waits underneath.
