The Gone Hooking Collection – a Guild, New Hampshire leather study, Volume III

An August study.
The Gone Hooking Collection – Volume III of our leather studies for Guild, New Hampshire. Five designs for the makers who pull wool through linen, each one cut for the hand that will carry it.
First, the sign of the collection. We hand-lettered a GONE HOOKING plaque and hung it from the one tool that explains it – the hook itself holds the sign. It rides the luggage tags in deep green and warm tan, for the bag that goes to every hook-in.
Next, the ten o'clock truth. We rolled one long strip into a tight coil and set JUST ONE MORE STRIP around it like the rim of a coin – the keychain you are holding while you say it.
It looks genuinely beautiful in warm red, and just as sure of itself in navy.
Then, a small crest for the fellowship of the frame. We crossed two hooks and lashed them together with a single strip of wool, under IN GOOD COMPANY – the best work happens with a friend at the next frame. It sits in the corner of the toiletry bags, honeyed russet over deep espresso, packed for a retreat weekend.
Then, the household law. We filled a basket past its brim, let one strip escape down the side, and arched SAVE EVERY SCRAP above the whole affair. The golden tan tray underneath obeys the same rule – it is where the day's strips and snips end up.
And finally, the one we mean the most. A small hooked heart passing from one pair of hands to the next, over MADE TO BE HANDED DOWN. It stands in the corner of the journals in deep wine and pale greige – for the color plans and class notes that outlast the projects they started.
Looks absolutely gorgeous when stamped onto the leather.
