Just Because – a leather gift collection for no occasion at all (Volume I-B)
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies. Volume I-B.
A September study.
Just Because – a small leather collection for the best gifting occasion there is, which is no occasion at all. Five designs pressed into leather, each carrying a line that does the talking for whoever gives it.
First, the luggage tags. We drew a dashed itinerary that loops once for the joy of it and lands on a star, and set TAKE THE TRIP underneath – the route is already drawn, so only the going is left. It runs lengthwise along the tag, in pale sea-blue and in warm caramel. The black tag carries the design in gold.

Next, the keychains. We tied a string around the words THOUGHT OF YOU and closed it with a bow at the crown – string tied around a finger is the oldest reminder there is, and this one rides along with the keys. Pressed into warm red and into deep green.
Looks great when stamped onto the leather.

Then, a toiletry bag for the man who is hard to buy for. Above the order COME BACK HANDSOME we crossed a straight razor and a comb like sabers – a send-off from whoever stays home. On the black bag over dark espresso, the blind deboss reads as a quiet shadow relief.

We gave the catchall tray the command EMPTY YOUR POCKETS and set the contents of a good day's pockets tumbling around the words, caught mid-fall. In golden tan.
It looks genuinely beautiful.

And finally, the journals. A single bulb on a straight cord hangs into a small doorplate and shines on the house rule GOOD IDEAS ONLY – posted in the lower corner, where every first page can see it. In navy and in pale warm greige, published separately.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
