Kept – a leather collection for the things you reach for every day

A September study.

Volume I-B · Commercial-Fit Independent Study

Kept is a small collection of five original designs about the everyday ritual of keeping – the keys by the door, the book the game scores go in. Each one is pressed into leather goods made to be reached for daily, from the keychain up to the travel kit.

First, we drew an ornamental cartouche in the old bookplate manner and set one word at its heart – MINE. A luggage tag has a single job; this one does it with ceremony.

It looks genuinely beautiful. It runs lengthwise along the tag in warm tan and in navy. The black tag carries the word in gold.

Next, the truth every keyring knows. Three keys fan from one ring, and the solid one is THE ONE THAT WORKS.

The keychains look just awesome – in warm red and in navy.

Then the journals. Under a small printer's hand, the cover rules IT GOES IN THE BOOK – game-night scores, and every recipe worth defending. Pressed into deep wine and into deep green.

After that, the tray where the day empties out. TURN OUT YOUR POCKETS circles a key and a coin, drawn where they land each evening, on the golden tan tray.

And finally, the toiletry bags. A bar of soap makes its exit above the words CLEAN GETAWAY, stamped small in the corner of the navy bag over its deep brown base.
