The Long Campaign – a leather collection for Broomfield's game tables

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies. Volume I-B.

A September study.

The Long Campaign – a small collection for the game tables of Broomfield, Colorado, stamped into full-grain leather from navy to golden tan.

First, we rolled initiative. A twenty-sider sits at the top of the stamp with the 20 face forward, and ROLL FOR INITIATIVE stands beneath it – the words every table says right before the good part starts. On the black tag the die is pressed in gold.

The same die goes small into the corner of a navy toiletry bag – the kit that carries dice and paints to game night.

Next, the campaign journal. We fused the quill and the sword into a single object, the pen that does the fighting, and set THE STORY SO FAR beneath it. A campaign that runs for years deserves a cover that admits it.

Looks absolutely gorgeous when stamped onto the leather.

Then, the tray. NATURAL TWENTY under a burst of rays, pressed at the center of the golden tan catchall – so whatever lands in it lands on a twenty.

And finally, the one we liked the most. Broomfield kept a tollbooth on the turnpike, and at the tollbooth lived Shep, a dog who greeted motorists for years. Every party needs its loyal companion – so Shep rides on the keychain.

Keychains with Shep on them look just awesome.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
