Safekeeping, Volume II – a leather collection for the little things we trust to each other

A September study – Volume II.
Safekeeping is a collection about the little things we trust to each other – the spare key, the bag out on loan. Everything in it leaves expecting to come back.
First, the luggage tags. We ruled the tag like a lending slip and set DUE BACK SOON across the top, leaving the return lines empty – the bag is checked out, and the coming home is the only fixed part of the trip.
The black tag carries the slip in gold. On deep wine and pale sea-blue the press runs blind.
Next, the toiletry bags. A swallow crosses THERE AND BACK with a single bloom in its beak – sailors kept the bird as a promise of safe return, and this one brings a flower home. Pressed into the corner of the stack, warm tan over dark espresso.
Then the catchall tray. We lettered LOST AND FOUND like the sign over a station counter and scattered the runaways around it – the ring, the hairpin – because whatever goes missing in a house turns up here first.
Looks great when stamped into the golden tan.
Then the journals. A bookmark ribbon hangs over TO BE CONTINUED – the story pauses where the ribbon falls, and picks up exactly there. Blind in the corner, once on navy, once on pale rose.
And finally, the one we liked the most. Beneath one bold key, the words KEEPER OF THE SPARE – a keychain to hand over with your spare key, to the neighbor who waters the plants or the friend you would call first. The smallest piece here carries the most trust.
It looks genuinely beautiful – once on dusty rose, once on deep green.
