Saved You One – a leather collection about candy and the people we choose it for

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies. Shops Waterfall, Volume I-C.

A September study.

Saved You One is a small leather collection about candy – more exactly, about choosing sweets for a particular person. Anyone who has ever held back the last good piece for someone will recognize it.

First, the piece itself. We drew one twist-wrapped sweet and set SAVED YOU ONE beneath it – the shortest way we know to say someone was thinking of you.

The black fob carries the design in gold – a gold wrapper for the one worth saving. The warm red fob takes it blind, pressed straight into the leather.

On the toiletry bag the same piece sits low in the corner – warm tan over chestnut, which is to say toffee over chocolate.

Next, the mix. Seven different sweets walk single file down the long side of the tag, and A LITTLE OF EVERYTHING walks under them – a packing philosophy we can stand behind.

Warm red first, then navy. The third tag is a pale sea-blue that could pass for a sweet itself.

And finally, the one we like most. Rows of sweets, all different, and one bold ring – because a hundred choices exist so that you can find yours. We set FOUND IT underneath.

On the golden tan tray it marks the place where the day's pocket finds land. It looks genuinely beautiful.
