The Second Look – a leather stamping collection for crystal and bead people
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies. Volume I-C.
A September study.
The Second Look – a small leather collection for people who choose stones one at a time. Every design in it rewards the habit that finds a good crystal: looking twice.
First, we drew a field of rough stones and let a single crystal go solid black. ONE IN A HUNDRED – the piece worth carrying home, and the one bag on the carousel that is yours.
The tags come in dusty lavender and pale sea-blue, with a true black third. The black tag carries the design in gold.

Next, we wrapped a crystal point in four turns of wire, the way a good pendant keeps its stone without a drop of glue, and set HOLD FAST underneath.
Looks great when stamped onto the leather. One fob comes in deep green; on the black fob the wire presses in gold.

Then we cut a gem open on paper for the journals. Inside the outline a small crystal garden climbs from the pavilion floor – real inclusions record where a stone grew, and gemologists read them as evidence of growth. A journal keeps the same kind of record, one page at a time.
It looks genuinely beautiful. One journal comes in navy, the other in deep wine.

Then the catchall tray, which is where a strand actually lands at the end of a day. We stamped one into the golden tan base – knotted bead by bead, clasp left open, at rest. No words on this one; the strand speaks for itself.

And finally, we put a jeweler's loupe on the toiletry stack, a faceted stone filling the lens and LOOK AGAIN beneath – the whole discipline of choosing, in two words. The bags pair warm stone gray over mottled chestnut, a geode's own logic: plain outside, rich within.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
