The C-Street Collection × Leatherius Woodman – a Springfield leather stamping study

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of leather stamping studies. Volume I-D.

A September study.

A gift collection for Historic C-Street in Springfield, Missouri – six blocks and thirteen tracks, pressed into leather. We call it the C-Street Collection.

First, we set the 1902 footbridge over its thirteen tracks and wrote MEET ME ON C STREET above the span. The black tag carries the crossing in gold foil. Warm tan and deep green tags take it as a blind deboss.

Looks great when stamped onto the leather.

The same crossing presses into the corner of a navy toiletry bag – for whoever carries the neighborhood out of town.

Next, a cup mid-steep – one ribbon of steam climbing toward LET IT STEEP. On a golden tan or deep espresso keychain it hangs where the kettle can see it, and in the corner of a journal it marks the place a thought goes to sit until it is ready. One journal comes in navy, the other in a honeyed russet the color of a long brew.

It looks genuinely beautiful.

And finally, six storefronts shoulder to shoulder – SIX BLOCKS above the rooflines, SINCE 1870 below – centered on a golden tan catchall tray, so the day's keys land on the street itself.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
