Christina Colizza × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of original leather stamping studies.

An August study.

For Christina Colizza.

First, we followed the luggage-tag guide you wrote to the letter – first initial and surname on the tag, a distinctive ribbon knotted to the handle. Under the name, the whole job of a luggage tag in four words: THAT ONE IS MINE.

The trio runs lengthwise – warm red for your own spot-it-across-the-carousel advice, with caramel and black beside it. The black tag carries the design in gold.

Next, the back home person – the friend from that same guide who keeps your spare keys and takes the call when a bag goes wandering. We gave the key a little house for a head, so the job finally comes with its own hardware.

Looks great when stamped onto the leather – a duo in warm tan and navy.

Then, 213 miles – the distance you once rode with everything you needed strapped to one rack. We drew the loaded bike and set the number under it, on passport covers in deep green and golden tan.

For the toiletry bags, we let a crescent moon lie down on the words themselves. SLEEP ON IT – the soundest advice in your beat, taken literally. The stack is navy over deep espresso, the colors of a room after lights out.

A journal is a long-term test you run on yourself, so the cover says ASK ME AGAIN IN FIVE YEARS, with the tally already started. We pressed it into chestnut and deep wine – leathers that answer that question a little better every year.

And finally, for the aspiring mafia wife – a golden tan catchall tray with one standing house rule pressed in the middle: TAKE THE CANNOLI.

It looks genuinely beautiful.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
