Three luggage-tag studies for Cornerstone Financial
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world organizations.
An August study.
One foundation, three fields, and a gate passed onward
Cornerstone Financial Group serves families and individuals, farmers and landowners, and business owners from Creston, Iowa. Its current public pages connect retirement and investment planning with estate coordination, business transition, farm succession, land transition, and legacy decisions. The team page identifies Matt Stange as President, Financial Advisor, and an equity partner.
A current official logo could not be verified reliably during this study, so these concepts do not claim or imitate one. They begin instead with two public, verifiable brand constructions: the name Cornerstone and the firm’s repeated three-audience structure of family, farm and land, and business. The name becomes a block being set into a wall; the three audiences become three field patterns on one boundary; and the firm’s agricultural and succession language becomes an everyday gate being passed from one hand to another.
As leather luggage tags, the ideas could be considered for approved team recognition, conference travel, workshops, farm- or business-owner events, professional partners, or carefully reviewed milestone gifts. Any financial-services gift program would need the firm’s normal compliance approval and should never be tied to a transaction, referral, or investment decision. The imagery stays grounded in building, land, and continuity rather than performance charts or wealth symbolism.
Leather and treatment
Deep navy, field green, and grain-cognac leather form a proposed professional and rural palette; these colors are not presented as official brand colors. Tonal impressions keep the first two versions understated, while restrained antique-brass on cognac can mark a carefully approved milestone.
The three concepts
1. Setting the Corner Block
A single square block is lowered into the open corner of a low wall. The immediate construction scene enacts the firm’s name without using lettering or inventing a corporate mark: the one piece from which the remaining structure can continue.

2. Three Fields, One Line
Three adjacent fields use vertical, diagonal, and horizontal rows above one shared boundary. The ordinary aerial farm view gives separate visual weight to families, landowners, and business owners while placing all three on one foundation.

3. The Gate Handoff
One hand steadies an open farm gate as another reaches to take it. The picture is a practical handoff rather than a handshake, connecting the firm’s public farm-succession and land-transition language to an object used every day.

These are independent design studies for appropriate team, partner, collaborator, adviser, vendor, volunteer, or client occasions. No affiliation, approval, or endorsement is implied. Every image is a render used to test the object before cutting a physical die.
We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual.
