Crysta & Devin × Leatherius Woodman – a private wedding gift study

A July study.
Crysta and Devin will marry in Asbury Park, New Jersey, on October 24, 2026, and the people they love will travel to the Atlantic to stand with them. A room that gathers from far away carries luggage, which is where a leather studio finds its excuse to daydream.
Their story hands a maker honest material. It began with assigned seats side by side in a math class in Florida, and it has held since October 10, 2010 – long enough for two teenagers to become the adults now planning an autumn by the sea. From that we drew three possible directions for a guest luggage tag, each with a different job to do. All of it is speculative, made freely and without commission.
The October Lockup
The formal decision comes first. C&D stands in plain capitals above a short rule, and the date 10.24.2026 sits small beneath. Every stroke carries one uniform weight, and the render carries the same lockup across a small family of leathers – pressed blind into cognac and forest green, and taking a restrained gold foil on black, the dress version of the idea. A mark this plain earns its place as a guest gift because it belongs to every person in the room equally; it announces the day and leaves the sentiment to whoever is holding it.
Atlantic Line
One unbroken line crosses this tag, lifting into three even swells before it settles, with ASBURY PARK beneath and 2026 under that. This is the keepsake of place, a horizon drawn simply enough for a brass die to hold. We rendered it blind-debossed on blueberry and natural leather, so the shore reads as shadow in the grain, and once more on black in gold foil. The wedding date stays off this one on purpose; a tag that names where a room once gathered keeps working after the calendar has turned, though whether a couple wants their tag dated at all is a question we would put to them.
Adjacent Seats
The quiet one. Two squares share a single wall, C in the left cell and D in the right. SINCE 10.10.2010 runs underneath. The form remembers the assigned seats where the two of them first ended up side by side, though we hold that reading lightly – to a stranger the tag is simply a modern monogram, and the seats appear only when someone tells the story. On natural and poppy red leather, pressed blind, it waits to be asked about; only on black, in gold foil, does it raise its voice.
We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
