Evan Malachosky and Jack Seemer × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

An August study.
For Evan Malachosky and Jack Seemer, who once ranked the sixteen best cardholders so the rest of us could carry less.
First, the habit you two share – taking an ordinary object apart until it explains itself. We drew a cardholder in exploded view, panels floating off a single card, and set DOWN TO PARTS beneath it.
On the luggage tags it runs from editorial black to wallet tan, with a third tag in warm red. The black tag carries the gold.
And across the base of a golden tan catchall tray, where the day's actual parts land every evening.
Next, an inspector's seal for the hurdle your guide sets first. A card sits inside a ring that reads FRONT POCKET TEST APPROVED – and since keys passed that test long before wallets did, it went on the keychains, in deep brown and warm red.
Looks great when stamped onto the leather.
Then, the warmest words your guide gives a piece of leather – that it "ages gracefully with constant use." We drew the proof of graceful aging, a cardholder with a card's ghost worn into its face, for journal covers in chestnut and warm tan that will spend years earning the same mark.
And finally, your opening line, set inside a border cut to true credit-card proportion – the whole doctrine fits on a card. It sits in the lower corner of the toiletry bags.
