FSAE CEO Retreat × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.
A July study.
FSAE CEO Retreat is the Florida Society of Association Executives' late-August gathering of association chief executives, held August 28–30, 2026 at Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek. The room is capped at thirty, and the thirty write the agenda themselves, around whatever each of them is actually carrying into the fall. FSAE hosts the weekend outright: Friday and Saturday rooms come with the seat, along with a welcome reception and shared meals from Friday evening through Sunday breakfast. When we checked the official page, it showed one seat left. A room this small, gathering this deliberately, stays with everyone who sat in it, and the mark that convenes it – bold blue capitals under a small fan of rays warming from yellow to magenta – asked for the press.
The mark, as found

Pressed lengthwise
We pressed the lockup, the FSAE core mark over a plain CEO RETREAT 2026 line, into a pale sea-blue that answers the logo's bright blue and a poppy red that answers the warm end of its ray fan. Black carries gold. We went back and forth on the rays; at tag scale the smallest triangles want to close up, so the stamp holds them a touch heavier than the printed mark does, and we think the fan reads the better for it.

A table for thirty
The companion drawing takes the weekend's shape from above: a single round table ringed by thirty seats, set between two cypresses for the Bonnet Creek preserve that wraps the resort, with ORLANDO 2026 beneath. The retreat's own agenda includes a tour of the property, so the place belongs in the emblem as much as the table does. Whether thirty small chairs survive a real debossing die is a fair question; in the render they hold, and we would sooner thin the chairs than lose the count.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
