D-BAT Lee's Summit × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world logos.

An August study.

For D-BAT Lee's Summit.

For the warm-up, we put the D-BAT logo on the luggage tags. The mark lends the navy and the stitch red; a pale gray sand tag stands in for the white of the ball.

Next, the work. Cage reps get counted in tally marks, so we chalked a wall of them and left the last cluster one stroke short – there is always one more swing – over the words THE SWINGS NOBODY SEES.

It went onto the journals, team navy beside a pale gray sand – the practice plans have to live somewhere.

And onto the dopp kits for the road series, navy over a chestnut mottled like a broken-in glove. Looks great when stamped onto the leather.

Then the keychains, sized for a bat-bag zipper. The die draws the infield and its favorite arithmetic – 6 to 4 to 3, two outs on one pitch – with TURN TWO under the diamond. One fob in navy, one in stitch red.

And finally, home plate holding "GET YOUR GAME ON", the way the homepage says it. We pressed it generously into the golden tan catchall tray, where keys and lineup-card odds and ends land after the last rep. It looks genuinely beautiful.
