Lake Pointe Aesthetics × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.
An August study.
Lake Pointe Aesthetics shares its roof and its name with Lake Pointe Dental Care in Somerset, Kentucky, and the practice speaks of the pairing plainly: "We take great pride in this office in both our aesthetics practice and dental care." The aesthetic chair belongs to Tiffany Keck, whom the site introduces as its master injector. She took her nursing degree at Western Kentucky University in 2007, and after years across other nursing specialties she found her passion in aesthetics, with advanced Allergan training that runs from Botox Cosmetic to SkinMedica.
She says she loves helping people feel and look beautiful. The aesthetic calendar keeps to Thursdays and Fridays, nine to four, the rhythm of a practice built on known faces and unhurried appointments. A gift at that scale should feel chosen, and the mark made choosing easy.
The mark, as found
The roundel is quietly audacious. Inside a muted rose-gold field, two dark syringes rise among long leaves as if the instruments were stems in the same planter; below, a flowing script Lake Pointe settles onto AESTHETICS in widely tracked serif capitals. Most medical marks hide the needle. This one plants it in a garden, and that single decision gave the whole study its direction.
Pressed
We pressed the full lockup, roundel and wordmark together, upright on a family of luggage tags. Two of the leathers come straight from the roundel's field: parisian blossom, a dusty rose, and blush, a pale rose – the deeper and the softer register of the same rose-gold. The third tag is true black, after the charcoal of the syringes and the script, and since black is the one leather in our line that takes foil, that tag carries the gold pass. Connected script is a stern test for a press; the long strokes of the wordmark forgive little, and we wanted to see them hold.
The stem that blooms
The companion design was waiting inside the mark. If the syringes already stand among leaves, the honest next step is to let one grow: a single stem that begins as a syringe, plunger at the foot and barrel rising, then continues past the needle into a five-petal blossom, two long leaves branching in the language of the official roundel and LAKE POINTE beneath in small capitals. We tried the flower on a plain stem first, and it read like any florist's die. The syringe is what makes it theirs.
On the keychain duo the stem stands on the fob below the rivet, blind debossed into dusty rose and deep espresso brown – the field of their mark beside the charcoal of its drawing.
The same die signs the toiletry bags as a maker's mark in the lower right corner, pressed tone on tone into a stack of warm mid-gray over deep espresso, the quiet neutrals of the practice's white, spacious rooms.
Everyone leaves feeling better
The practice describes its outcome in one of the better sentences we have read on a clinic's site: "Goals are set, met and everyone leaves feeling better than when they came in." The hinge word is leaves, and leaves are also what the roundel is full of. A pun a brand builds by accident is a gift to a die maker. So two long leaves form an open wreath around the words EVERYONE LEAVES FEELING BETTER, with LEAVES cut largest, letting the double meaning carry the design.
It sits centered on the catchall tray in our golden tan arizona leather, which photographs sunlit and sometimes a shade brighter than life. A tray lives where days end, catching keys and earrings, and the sentence waits there for whoever comes home.
Set and met
"Goals are set, met." A journal is the one object in this bundle where the clause turns literal, since a goal written down is already half kept. The third die stacks GOALS ARE over SET AND MET with a slender leaf sprig beneath, pressed generously into the lower right corner of a wrap-journal duo in pale warm greige and the same dusty rose. For the consult room or the front desk; for whoever tracks a skincare plan, or a year of small promises kept to themselves.
