Three leather luggage-tag studies for Life Time

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world organizations.

A July study.

Movement, time, and the club

Life Time builds athletic country clubs around healthy living, healthy aging, and places people choose to spend time. That makes a travel object surprisingly natural: regional leaders, club teams, partners, and event participants move between destinations while carrying the experience with them.

The compact Life Time icon is a small kit of parts: one heavy L-shaped platform, four round points, and a soft square enclosure. These studies pull those parts apart and give each a practical second life. Nothing copies the icon; every piece has to become an ordinary object before it reaches the leather.

The result is closer to quiet club recognition than fitness merchandise. It can mark a team milestone, a gathering, or a thoughtful thank-you without requiring a slogan.

Leather and treatment

Blueberry and Caramel receive blind debosses; Black receives warm gold. The strong circles and broad strokes are intentionally suited to a compact die.

The three concepts

1. The High Dive

A diving platform stands over one waterline, with three droplets recording the splash. The platform begins with the icon's L-shaped block, rotated into a familiar pool object; the circles become motion instead of a brand arrangement. It feels active, crisp, and particularly at home in an organization whose clubs bring sport and hospitality together.

2. The Bouncing Ball

One ball crosses the ground through four diminishing bounces. The sequence keeps the official icon's four-circle rhythm while replacing its static grouping with a universally understood action. It is playful without becoming juvenile, and it reads equally well as energy, practice, or momentum.

3. The Club Clock

A rounded wall clock reads ten past ten. Its enclosure and four hour points come from the icon's secondary geometry, rebuilt as the most literal everyday reading of Life Time's name. It suits service milestones and leadership recognition because the image is about time given, time shared, and time well used.

These are independent design studies for appropriate team, partner, collaborator, member, or client occasions. No affiliation or endorsement is implied. Every image is a render used to test the object before cutting a physical die.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual.
