MaineHealth × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world logos.

An August study.

For MaineHealth.

For the warm-up, we put the MaineHealth logo on the luggage tags – one in the warm red of their mark, one in a deep pine green for the wordmark. The black tag carries it in gold.

Next, the vision. It opens with “Working together,” and we gave those two words their picture: one continuous heartbeat line whose spikes are the rocky coast of Maine. The trace arrives flat, then breaks into headlands and coves before settling on the far side. We pressed it big across the catchall tray, and onto a pair of journals – one warm red, one pale greige.

Looks great when stamped onto the leather.

Then the toiletry bags. A lighthouse with its beams thrown wide and LIT ALL NIGHT beneath – lighthouses and hospitals keep the same hours. The stack is navy over deep brown, the colors of a coast after dark.

And finally, the whole vision in one badge – seven pines gathered around a single heart, circled by THE HEALTHIEST IN AMERICA. On the keychains it sits in deep green and warm tan.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
