Mass General Brigham × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.

An August study.

For Mass General Brigham.

For the warm-up, we pressed the Mass General Brigham logo lengthwise along the luggage tags – the navy and pale sea-blue tags take it blind. The black tag carries the gold.

Next, we drew a compass rose for the system itself. 16 points. 1 for each member institution. And at the center, the four lobes of their own mark – every point radiating from the same shared middle.

It looks genuinely beautiful stamped into the leather.

And finally, the journals. The cover asks WHAT COMES NEXT IN MEDICINE and leaves one blank line beneath the question – the pages are where it gets answered.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
