Three luggage-tag studies for NAPA
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world organizations.
An August study.
Ready on time, warmth within reach, and a handoff made clearly
North American Partners in Anesthesia describes a clinician-led organization supporting anesthesia and perioperative care across hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and office-based settings. Its public story emphasizes partnership, operational consistency, clinical leadership, and the many coordinated roles required to support care before, during, and after a procedure.
NAPA’s current visual system is calm and direct: a blue circular letterform, stacked gray name, deep navy, clear hospital blue, pale blue fields, rounded information tiles, and people-centered photography under blue overlays. These independent studies do not reproduce the circle, letters, wordmark, medical cross, or clinical equipment. Instead, the round rhythm becomes a readiness clock, the stacked name becomes folded warming blankets, and the site’s repeated service modules become the sections of a baton passed between two hands.
As leather luggage tags, the ideas could be considered for approved clinical teams, operational leaders, new colleagues, service anniversaries, conference groups, partnership milestones, or year-end recognition. The pictures stay approachable for anyone receiving the gift: being ready, keeping someone warm, and passing responsibility carefully from one person to the next.
Leather and treatment
Deep navy, clear blue, and natural tan leather carry the organization’s public palette into a quieter material language. Tonal impressions keep the first two options professional and understated; a restrained antique-brass impression on tan offers a warmer recognition treatment without changing the artwork.
The three concepts
1. Seven Sharp
A plain round clock shows seven o’clock, with one firm marker at twelve. It reads first as punctuality and readiness. Its circle and single emphatic tick quietly borrow the discipline of NAPA’s compact round mark without copying the identity.

2. The Warm Stack
Four folded warming blankets make a neat horizontal stack. The object is familiar, useful, and human before any brand association appears; the four broad layers translate the stacked visual rhythm seen in NAPA’s name and service panels.

3. The Handoff
Two hands pass a baton divided into four clear sections. The immediate image is teamwork and a responsibility transferred with care, while the repeated segments echo the organization’s modular public design system and connected range of services.

These are independent design studies for appropriate team, partner, collaborator, adviser, vendor, volunteer, educator, or client occasions. No affiliation, approval, or endorsement is implied. Every image is a render used to test the object before cutting a physical die.
We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual.
