Richard Lazazzera × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world logos.

An August study.

For Richard Lazazzera.

First, the origin story. Richard founded A Better Lemonade Stand in 2012 and, by his own running joke, never sold a single glass – so we drew the stand, striped awning and one untouched glass, and set the honest ledger underneath: ZERO SOLD SINCE 2012.

It looks genuinely beautiful.

The luggage tags run golden tan and navy, with a true black third. The black tag carries the stamp in gold foil.

Next, we planted an envelope. A cold email Richard sent grew, a decade later, into his seat at Fourthwall – so the keychains carry a letter sunk into the earth, already sprouting, over SOME EMAILS TAKE ROOT. Consider this study one more seed. Navy and pale warm greige – Fourthwall's blue and off-white, translated into leather.

Then the toiletry bags. Richard calls his first venture a North Star, and a toiletry bag is the one piece of luggage that goes everywhere – so a small eight-point star, its north ray breaking the ring, sits in the corner of a navy and deep brown stack. Night sky over earth.

The catchall tray gets his own test turned into furniture. Good swag lives out on the dresser, within reach; the drawer below collects only what failed. So the golden tan tray shows an open drawer, empty but for one cobweb, over TOO GOOD FOR THE DRAWER.

Looks great when stamped onto the leather.

And finally, the journals take the job title literally. A growth curve climbs in steps, thickens into a living branch and leafs out where the chart runs out of rises – ORGANIC GROWTH, pressed low in the corner where a maker's mark belongs, on deep green and warm tan.

Looks absolutely gorgeous when stamped onto the leather.

And for the sake of completeness, because the study began with his piece on branded company swag – the official Fourthwall wordmark, pressed faithfully onto keychains in true black and pale warm greige.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
