T-Mobile × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.

An August study.

For T-Mobile.

The wordmark, pressed faithfully, running the length of the tag. One leather here answers their magenta almost exactly, and pale warm greige stands in for the white it usually lives on. The black tag carries the gold.

FULL BARS – the signal meter rebuilt from the square dot that frames their T, stacked to a full reading. One fob wears their magenta; the black fob carries the gold. On the dopp kits, black over deep brown, the same mark rides the lower corner – a kit that packs a full signal wherever it lands.

THE HANDOFF – the network's quietest trick, a call crossing from one point to the next without dropping. People pass what they know the same way, and a journal is where it lands in writing; the duo presses black beside pale warm greige.

AFTER HOURS – the same meter lying on its back. The golden tan tray is where the phone lands at the end of the day; the bars stay full, they just get to lie down.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
