WPP Media × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.
An August study.
WPP Media is young and enormous at the same time. WPP stood it up in May 2025 as its AI-driven global media company, and it already counts more than 40,000 media experts working across eighty-plus markets. They call themselves "the global partner for intelligent growth," and their company page opens on a line we kept rereading: a world where media is everywhere and intelligence is everything.
What won us over, though, is the wordmark. The letters W P P are built from a field of small circular dots, dozens of tiny signals holding the shape of three letters, and "Media" follows in calm solid type. For a studio that presses marks into leather, a logo made of dots is a quiet gift. Under a die, every one of those dots becomes its own small well of shadow.
The mark, as found
Their mark as it lives on their site, in a navy deep enough to flirt with black, drawn wide at nearly six times its height.

Pressed
A mark this wide wants the long axis, so the luggage tags run lengthwise, the wordmark following the leather like a route on a map. The pair of leathers comes straight from their world: deep navy blueberry, the same register as the wordmark's own ink, and dusty lavender lilac for the violet haze that carried the white mark through their launch imagery. The black tag takes the mark in gold foil.

One signal
The rest of the set carries an emblem we drew for them, called One Signal. Our first instinct was to build letterforms out of dots the way their designers did; we backed away, since a second dotted monogram would read as imitation, and kept only the convergence. Small dots drift inward on a slow clockwise current, growing larger and denser as they near the middle, until they meet a single bold open ring. Everyone at that company spends the working day turning scattered signals into one clear outcome. The center of the ring stays empty – "We're Open" is the first value they name, and it felt right to press a little openness into the middle of the emblem.

On the keychains the emblem sits below the rivet, pressed blind into deep navy blueberry and pale greige gray sand – the ink of their mark and the pale cool ground their site sets it against.

The toiletry bags stack navy blueberry over a deep espresso brown, and here the emblem shrinks to a maker's mark in the lower right corner of each front face, pressed blind. Bags like these travel to pitches and productions; the small corner press stays quiet on purpose.

The wrap journals take the soft end of their palette, dusty lavender lilac beside pale greige gray sand, with the emblem pressed generously into the lower right corner of the front panel. Media plans are born in notebooks more often than the dashboards would suggest.

Every market, every day
The valet tray earned a die of its own. Around a thin border ring run the words EVERY MARKET and EVERY DAY, lifted from their promise to deliver measurable outcomes for brands in every market, every day. Inside, a scatter of signals, each tied by a fine straight ray to one point at the center. A tray is where a day's pocket contents come home each evening, and we liked the echo – things gathered from everywhere, landing in one calm place. The leather is golden tan arizona, our only tray leather and a warm counterweight to all that navy, and the press is blind, tone on tone.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
