The Standing Game – a leather collection for Broomfield game nights

From the Practice Log – Volume I-D, an independent gift study in leather.

A September study.

The Standing Game – a small collection stamped in leather for Broomfield, where some of the best evenings happen around a table. Four designs, each made for giving to a person you know by their seat at the table.

First, we drew home the way a game master would – a strip of seven hexes running from the Front Range peaks down to the open plain, with a house and a star on the center hex and HOME HEX written beneath. The map is ours and happily interpretive; the drive home it describes is real.

It runs lengthwise along the luggage tags, in navy and in honeyed russet. The black tag carries the gold.

On the deep green journal it sits in the lower corner, quiet as a map key.

Next, the promise every good table keeps. We filled an hourglass with dice and wrote SAME TIME NEXT WEEK around it.

Looks great when stamped onto the leather – here on keychains in warm red and pale sea-blue.

It goes on the toiletry bag too, navy over deep espresso, for the weekends the game travels.

Then, one for the keeper of the record. We crossed a quill with a sword and wrote WHAT IS WRITTEN IS CANON beneath – every table has the one who writes it down, and their notebook should look the part. Here in deep wine.

And finally, the one we liked the most. The golden tan tray was always going to end up holding dice, so we stamped a twenty on its floor and wrote ROLL HERE. Now it is official.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
