The Sweet Twist – a Lititz, Pennsylvania leather collection
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of leather stamping studies.
A September study. Volume I-D.
Lititz, Pennsylvania has been twisting pretzels since 1861, and the candy counters never fell far behind. THE SWEET TWIST presses that sweetness into leather – luggage tags and keychains, journals and a tray, all rooted in one Lancaster County town.
First, we wrapped the oldest candy-counter compliment in a twist wrapper: SWEET ON YOU, knocked out white across the candy itself, so the wrapper does the talking.
We ran it lengthwise along the luggage tags, in vivid magenta and in pale sea-blue. The black tag carries the gold.
It looks genuinely beautiful.
The same candy sits low in the corner of the toiletry bags, blind debossed in warm tan and in chestnut – a sweet word on a very practical gift.
Next, the town knot. Lititz has twisted pretzels commercially since 1861, and visitors still learn the twist by hand – so ours is one continuous band, salt and all, above TWISTED IN LITITZ.
On the keychains it comes pretzel-colored, in warm tan and in deep brown.

And centered on the golden tan catchall tray, where the pocket change lands at the end of the day.
And finally, the park. Every Christmas since 1994, candles have lined the stream through Lititz Springs Park – we set a row of them along the stone-edged water, under MEET ME AT THE SPRINGS.
It sits in the corner of the journals – deep green for the park canopy, pale warm greige for the gravel paths.
Looks absolutely gorgeous when stamped onto the leather.
