The Town That Time Forgot – a Carlisle, Kentucky leather collection
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world logos.
A September study. Volume I-B.
Carlisle, Kentucky keeps its own pace, and we made a leather collection that keeps it too. We call it The Town That Time Forgot – from luggage tags to leather journals, each piece stamped with something worth slowing down for.
First, we took the name the town has earned – The Town That Time Forgot – and set it in a line above the restored log cabin that Daniel Boone is said to have called his last Kentucky home, every log and every windowpane of it.

On warm caramel and deep green the cabin presses blind. The black tag carries it in gold.

Next, the journals. We hung a two-toed sloth beneath the words TAKE YOUR TIME, both claws hooked over the branch – a blank page and a sloth agree on how to begin.
Looks absolutely gorgeous when stamped onto the leather.

Then the keychains. We set a capybara in full repose inside a ring reading CALM AS A CAPYBARA – a standard worth clipping your keys to.

After that, we drew a crawdad from straight above, claws raised under an arch of BRUSHY CREEK, and pressed it into the corner of the toiletry bag – golden tan over chestnut, the wader's trophy on the one bag guaranteed to get splashed.

And finally, the other motto. The Little Town with the Big Heart – so we drew the big heart and set the little town inside it, eight letters, dead center. On the golden tan tray it holds the day's whole pocketful.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
