Water on Three Sides – Gainesville, Georgia, in stamped leather

A September study – Volume I-A.
Four stamps for Gainesville, Georgia, pressed into leather the color of its woods and its water.
First, the fact every local carries: Lake Lanier holds the town on three sides. We drew Gainesville as a small white island inside a ring of rippling water, left the foothills to keep the north, and set WATER ON THREE SIDES beneath.
It looks genuinely beautiful on the golden tan tag.
Next, we cut the daily decision as a wooden fingerpost. Sourwood points one way. Holly Ridge points the other. Dogwood heads for its ridge, and a small bird supervises from the top of the post.
Keychains with the fingerpost look just awesome too – deep green for the shade side of the walk, warm tan for the bare earth of the path.
Then, Still Water. A lily rides its pad on one long unbroken waterline, and the pond gives the bloom back in pieces below.
On the navy tag the design is at home – dark reflective water is where a lily belongs.
A catchall tray is the stillest water in the house – whatever lands there settles. Golden tan, stamped at generous size.
The toiletry bag carries the lily small, in the lower corner – warm tan over chestnut. Looks great when stamped onto the leather.
And finally, the one we liked the most. Witch hazel flowers when the rest of the woods have gone quiet, so a bare branch with its ribbon petals sits in the corner of the journal, over BLOOMS IN WINTER – a fair motto for anyone who keeps writing through the cold.
Looks absolutely gorgeous when stamped onto the leather – once on deep green, once on pale sand.
