Christmas Book Flood Leather Keychain – Jolabokaflod Gift for Readers
About this piece
In Iceland the season brings Jólabókaflóð, the Christmas book flood, when books are given on Christmas Eve and read that same night. Many reading households far from Iceland have taken up the custom. A stack of three books sits at the top of this fob, with Christmas in brush script beneath and BOOK FLOOD in engraved capitals.
Turquoise is a bright blue green, the color of a flood tide. We die-press the design into full-grain leather on the front and make each one by hand to order. A book club can order one per member for a Christmas Eve exchange. Gold foil is offered at checkout, and US shipping is free.
