Keeper of Bees Leather Keychain – Beekeeper Gift

About this piece

Long before the wooden box hive, bees were kept in skeps, domed baskets of coiled straw with a small arched door at the bottom. The skep still serves as the beekeeper's emblem, and it stands at the top of this fob on a low board. Keeper runs beneath it in brush script, with OF BEES in engraved capitals, the title a beekeeper gives herself.

Indian Summer is a golden tan that deepens toward honey with handling. A metal die presses the design into the front of full-grain leather as a blind deboss. Each keychain is made by hand to order, and gold foil can be added at checkout for a hive that catches the light.
