36K Travel Agency × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.
A July study.
36K Travel Agency books airfare out of Northwest Arkansas for missionaries and mission teams – “we serve those that serve,” as founder Phil Khamoua puts it. The name is altitude: 36,000 feet, which their homepage calls the optimal cruising altitude for the smoothest flights. Phil's own story adds a second reading – thirty-six countries and thousands of miles from his years in missions aviation booking.
Their mark needs no help from us: brush-drawn numerals with a jet climbing straight out of the six on a dashed trail, and a single red k tucked into the curve. Line weights a die-maker grins at. We pressed it exactly as found.
The mark, as found

Pressed
Navy blueberry for their blue, poppy red for the k, and black for the gold pass.

The altitude line
And because their own merch already jokes in fluent frequent-flyer, we cut a second die just for them: the little jet again on its dashed climb, and the words every mission team learns to love – cruising altitude, 36,000 ft, one cloud below.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
