A2BE × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.

An August study.

For A2BE.

The handwritten script, pressed as found. Its oversized 2 already carries the whole idea – the numeral's lower stroke sweeps out and drives the rest of the name home.

The black tag takes the gold pass. Somewhere in their site's code an accent color is named gold; on the leather of the black car itself, it finally gets to be one.

Unfoiled on dark espresso brown, the press reads as pure shadow – the quietest way to sign a bag that rides in quiet cars.

Navy, for the corporate itinerary.

A2BE spends its days getting people from A to B, and the name admits it. So the companion mark lets the numeral do the driving: between a plain A and a plain B, the oversized 2 stretches its own lower stroke into a marked highway and finishes the trip itself.

On black the road takes the gold, and the lane markings turn into runway lights.

And on navy, where most business luggage already lives.

They watch the flight so the car is already there. The second companion puts it the way a dispatcher would – the descent is a dashed line, someone else's leg of the trip, tracked closely; at the curb the line turns solid and stays solid to the last mile.

Black carries the gold here too – a night arrival, drawn in foil.

Blind on espresso, discreet as the service it describes.

On navy it reads like a route map that ends, for once, exactly at the right door.

Wheels down, three ways.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
