ABC Accounts, Tax & More × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world logos.

An August study.

For ABC Accounts, Tax & More.

First, for the warm-up, we redrew the shield sharp and pressed the full lockup onto the luggage tags – a navy tag and a pale sea-blue one for the two blues of the mark. The black tag carries the logo in gold.

Next, the name. We set A B C on copybook guide lines, the way first letters are learned, and wrote AS EASY AS small above – because making finance that simple is the whole trade. The keychains wear it in both brand blues, deep navy and pale sea-blue.

It looks great when stamped onto the leather.

Then the standing line: "You and your business do the work while we do the paperwork" So we folded the paperwork into a paper plane – a ledger sheet, ruled lines still on its wings, climbing away on a dashed flight path above WE DO THE PAPERWORK.

It sits in the corner of the toiletry bags, navy over deep espresso – the bag that gets packed when the filing is someone else's problem.

On the golden tan catchall tray it flies at full size – the tray where the day's receipts land first.

And finally, the one we liked the most. A short column of figures over the sum rule, and where the total belongs the die answers IT ALL ADDS UP – closed with the double underline accountants keep for a settled account. Journals in pale greige and black, since a journal is where the figures get entered first.
