Three leather luggage-tag studies for ALTR

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world organizations.

An August study.

Awakened performance, made ordinary

ALTR combines full-body HIIT and strength training in a deliberately high-energy Minneapolis studio, with livestream access extending the room beyond its physical walls. A useful team or community gift should feel alert and confident without becoming generic fitness merchandise.

The identity provides two unusually useful ingredients: a tall, open-based triangular mark and the phrase “Awakened Performance.” These studies take those ingredients apart. The peak becomes shelter, its white counter becomes light, and the language becomes the most familiar awakening object of all.

The resulting luggage tags could recognize coaches, collaborators, challenge participants, or a small circle of devoted members. Each image reads as an ordinary object first and rewards brand familiarity second.

Leather and treatment

The same design is repeated across three leather colors in each family. Blind debossing and restrained metallic impressions keep the artwork grown-up, while the deliberately broad strokes remain viable at luggage-tag scale.

The three concepts

1. Basecamp Tent

An open-front A-frame tent borrows the steep outer angle and broken base of ALTR's signature peak. The intact mark has disappeared, leaving an unmistakable image of shelter, arrival, and the place where effort begins.

2. Studio Spotlight

A hanging lamp throws an empty cone of light onto the floor. The beam uses the triangular negative space inside the ALTR mark, turning brand geometry into a welcoming place to step forward and be seen.

3. Wake-Up Call

A ringing twin-bell alarm clock makes “Awakened Performance” literal. Its splayed feet and ten-to-two hands quietly inherit the stance of ALTR's peak, but the first read is immediate, cheerful, and human.

These are independent design studies for appropriate team, partner, collaborator, member, or client occasions. No affiliation or endorsement is implied. Every image is a render used to test the object before cutting a physical die.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual.
