Balcer Travel Company × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.
A July study.
Balcer Travel Company is a full-service luxury agency, and Anne-Marie Balcer, CTA, is the travel expert behind it. She began advising travelers in 2020, which took nerve; the industry's sharpest disruption in living memory arrived within weeks of her start, and she kept working, building a practice on attentive listening and on journeys that reflect each client's own story. She promises “thoughtfully crafted journeys, designed just for you.” Destination weddings and honeymoons sit near the center of what she plans, and public profiles place her in Alexander, North Dakota, though we could only confirm that secondhand.
Her mark is what brought us here. A thin outlined half-sun rises over five horizon lines that shorten as they fall away, the way light gathers on water toward the far edge of a morning, and beside it BALCER stands in widely letterspaced serif capitals over the smaller TRAVEL COMPANY. Lines that fine are an honest test of a die. We wanted to know whether leather would hold all five without the last one drowning.
The mark, as found

Pressed lengthwise
Blueberry answers the deep navy of her site and gray-sand answers the warm beige that surrounds the mark, a pair that already feels like dusk and shoreline. Black carries the gold, as it always does.

Designed just for you
For the companion we let the sun pack its bags. The half-sun becomes a suitcase and keeps its five-line horizon overhead. Beneath both runs the phrase she stakes the practice on: DESIGNED JUST FOR YOU. Pressed lengthwise, it reads like a boarding pass for a trip that so far exists only in her notes.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
