Beloved Getaways × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.
A July study.
Beloved Getaways plans destination weddings and honeymoons out of Flowood, Mississippi, with Mexico and the Caribbean all over the current site. Mindi Phillips founded the studio and plans the trips; she started in event decorating and certified as a wedding planner before travel planning won her over for good. Her About page treats the name as the whole pitch. “It’s all in the name: Beloved Getaways. We create romantic trips with the ones you love most.”
The mark earned this study before we touched leather. A hand-brushed BG sits inside a double-line shield, and symmetrical botanical scrollwork opens out from it in one long horizontal flourish. Below, the name runs in big connected brush script, and the final s of Getaways lifts away as a tiny ascending airplane. That airplane is the same move a stamp makes – a whole promise folded into one small gesture. The art is drawn in pure white, meant for dark grounds, so we set it on a midnight panel just to see it whole.
The mark, as found

Pressed
Blush leather takes its cue from the portraiture and petal tones that fill their site, while gray sand answers the pale ceremony styling of a beach wedding. Black carries the shield and script in gold foil. The scrollwork made us think; a two-millimetre die will hold the shield and the wordmark faithfully, and the finest tendrils would simplify under the tool. We believe the mark survives that trade, though we would want Mindi’s eye on it before cutting steel.

Make it a destination
The site’s own vow is “Your love is a journey...make it a destination with the wedding of your dreams.” We drew the journey. A dashed flight path curls into a heart and ends at a map pin, set above MAKE IT A DESTINATION in small capitals. It belongs on a luggage tag the way few taglines do.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
