Beyond Imagination Vacations × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.
A July study.
Beyond Imagination Vacations is a full-service travel agency headquartered in Oklahoma City, with advisors working from several states beyond it. Jennifer Bryan owns the shop, and her About page promises to manage every step of a vacation’s planning with care and love. Disney is the deep specialty, though the map runs on through cruises and wine country. What earned this study were two lines of their own copy: “We’re your dream destination designers.” and “Crafting vacations is our passion.” When a company claims crafting as its passion, a workshop hears an invitation. We answered.
The wordmark is what asked for the press. The name stacks in three centered lines of high-contrast serif capitals, tracked wide, with a thin rule holding VACATIONS a step below the rest. Dignified type for a trade that sells daydreams, and wider than it is tall even stacked, so on a tag it lies lengthwise.
The mark, as found

Pressed lengthwise
The source art is white type on transparency, legible only where a background obliges, and the press settles that dependence; debossed letters read by shadow, in any light. We hesitated over the thin rule above VACATIONS, since hairlines can close up in a shallow die, but at this width it holds. The turquoise is a pale sea-blue, cousin to the teal in their site’s navigation, and the indian-summer is a honeyed caramel after the orange-gold of their buttons. On black, the letters go gold.

Beyond the bubble
Their name handed us the design. The companion sets BEYOND IMAGINATION inside a thought bubble, then breaks the outline just enough for a small airplane to slip through. The dream gets out. Our one worry was whether the gap would read as escape or as accident at tag size; in the render it reads as escape, though a cut die will have the final say.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
