Bridie Travel × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.
A July study.
Bridie Travel is Megan Amelio's boutique agency in Chicago, named for her Irish grandmother Bridie, who left County Mayo and came through Ellis Island in the 1930s. Megan plans destination weddings and honeymoons under that name – which means every trip she sends off carries a crossing story of its own. Her editorial serif wordmark, swashed R and all, presses like it was drawn for brass.
The mark, as found

Pressed
Blush for the bridal side of the house, a pale sea-blue for the Amalfi water her heroes swim in, and black for the gold pass.

The crossing
Then the second die, for the family route that started everything: a 1930s liner steaming right, and beneath it one line – MAYO to CHICAGO. Grandmother first.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
