Candace Uptown Fashions, Ltd × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.
An August study.
For Candace Uptown Fashions, Ltd.
The name as it stands today – plain type, set straight, before any fitting.

The mark we propose sets CANDACE in tall evening serifs and gives it a hem – one ribbon of fabric caught mid-turn, lifting at the end, with UPTOWN FASHIONS waiting quietly underneath. On upright luggage tags it stands in pale rose and deep wine. The black tag carries the gold.

The companion mark is the shop seen from directly above – a circle skirt at full spin, held one second before the fabric settles. It rides the keychain fobs in vivid magenta and black, and presses small into the corner of a toiletry stack in black over dark espresso; in the golden tan tray it sits full size, where the earrings land at the end of the big night. The black fob carries the gold.

Dressmaker's chalk on journal covers in dusty lavender and deep wine: the straight dashed line is the pattern, and the curve leaving it is the fit. Every good plan gets altered until it sits right.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
