Briefs packed, doors open, and the line back on the road
Capitol Advisors Group presents a California team working across politics, education policy and finance, legislative strategy, and public affairs for school agencies, associations, private-sector interests, and nonprofits. Its current team page identifies Cathy McBride as a Partner and describes more than two decades in public policy, including education, negotiation, and executive-branch experience.
The strongest visible identity device on the official site is a tightly cropped capitol facade: paired white fluted columns, centered architectural spacing, arched double doors glowing against dark wood, cream fields, charcoal-blue serif type, and fine horizontal rules. These independent studies do not reproduce a capitol dome, government seal, bear emblem, party symbol, gavel, ballot, or building logo. The paired columns become two rolled briefing papers in a work bag, the arches become ordinary open doors, and a ruled page sends one line outward as a road.
As leather luggage tags, the ideas could be considered for approved team recognition, statewide meeting travel, conferences, policy-event cohorts, association or nonprofit partners, and year-end gifts where ethics and recipient policies permit. Nothing here implies state sponsorship, client endorsement, or special access. The first reads are the real tools and motions of the work: documents packed, a doorway open, and a page becoming another trip across California.
Leather and treatment
Deep charcoal-navy, warm cream-tan, and oxblood leather reflect the official site’s quiet architectural mood. Tonal impressions remain discreet for policy and education settings. Restrained antique-brass on oxblood supplies one formal treatment without borrowing government insignia.
The three concepts
1. Briefs in the Bag
Two rolled briefing documents stand upright in a compact work bag. Their paired, lightly fluted rhythm comes from the site’s white columns, transformed into the papers the team actually carries between meetings.
2. Doors Left Open
Two tall arched doors stand open, their inner panels clear and their lower edges angled toward the viewer. The construction lifts only the twin doorway rhythm from the facade and makes it a plain, welcoming threshold.
3. The Line Becomes Road
A ruled note page sits below one line that rises from the paper and winds toward the distance. The site’s disciplined hairline grid becomes the repeated journey between written policy work and statewide meetings.
