ChristWay Community Church × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies in leather.
An August study.
For ChristWay Community Church.
First, the three words their homepage opens with. We set a small cross above them, because the church's own line completes the sentence – "Love is why Jesus died for us." It goes into the lower corner of the journals, one pale sea-blue and one black.
It looks genuinely beautiful.

Next, the name itself, drawn as it reads: one narrow road running straight to a cross on the horizon. We pressed it on a warm caramel fob and a black one. Black carries the gold.

Then, the last line of the church's vision – REACH THE WORLD WITH HIS LOVE – wrapped around a globe, with a small heart pressed over Tennessee, where every journey out begins. Two of the tags run pale sea-blue and pale gray sand. The third is black, and on black the design goes down in gold.
Looks absolutely gorgeous when stamped onto the leather.

The toiletry bags travel with the same sending – a dove on the wing above a single word, SENT, in the corner of a navy over deep espresso brown stack.

And finally, the one we liked the most. ChristWay stands on Mountain View Road, so we gave the golden-tan catchall tray the view: the ridge under a small morning sun, and Psalm 121 arched over it – I LIFT UP MY EYES TO THE HILLS.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
